This 12 inch tall doll, circa 1931, was manufactured by Effanbee. The doll is all composition with a five piece composition body jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. Patsy Jr. has painted facial features with side glancing eyes and molded and painted hair. The doll does have some minor typical crazing and loss of paint on the body but there is no repaint to the composition. There are short stable cracks along each side of the head from the neck socket opening. She is marked on her upper back, in raised lettering, “Effanbee//Patsy Jr//Doll.” The little girl from the Patsy family of dolls wears a vintage cotton print dress and a wool coat with a matching hat. These are not original Patsy clothing but are of the period and quite appropriate for the doll. She wears old side snap shoes that may be original to the doll.
