This pattern was introduced c.1817 and remained popular for some years after that. In fact, it is still popular. The border, I think known as Camilla, was used on the Italian series made by Spode. This oval bowl is slightly lobed in outline and marked with “SPODE” impressed, along with the numeral 4. In addition, the pattern number is enameled on the bottom. The underglaze blue printed border is complemented by a central medallion in polychrome. It is ten and a half inches long. One small chip on the outside of the rim has been repaired (shown).
