About Dolls and Lace
Our Service PledgeWe pledge to make your online ordering experience a positive one. We try to be as accurate as possible in our descriptions and attempt to mail your orders in a timely fashion.
About UsWelcome to Dolls And Lace! We specialize in antique dolls and bears, antique doll clothes and accessories, and antique lace, ribbon and trims, vintage millinery and Victorian accessories. We have been buying and selling antiques since 1988 and have been operating our internet business for seventeen years.
We are nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, approximately 30 minutes from Salt Lake City and are just a few miles from the original historic Pony Express Trail which operated here from 1860 through 1861.
We have customers in over 80 countries and have placed our orphan dolls and bears in loving homes throughout the world! Our vintage millinery is being used in costume design in the blockbuster movie The Mummy III, filmed at Universal Studios and
our vintage lace incorporated into costume embellishment for the Prince Caspian movie filmed in Prague and which was released in spring of 2008. All our customers are important to us, from the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Company of New York, CBS Wardrobe Department and BBC Productions to the enthusiastic first time collector who is purchasing a much beloved antique doll or teddy bear.
We know that communicating on the Internet can seem, at times, impersonal. All of us here at Dolls and Lace are committed to making ordering online a positive experience for you.
Please note that many of our items are consignments from all over the world. We offer our items on other online sites, through mail order, at shows and local shops. We reserve the right to withdraw inventory items for sale or consigned items at any time. Instances have occurred where items have sold in another location or consignors have changed their minds and no longer wish to sell. We thank you for your understanding.
Now for the "fine print"...
I sell vintage and antique items with a history; Oftentimes items may show wear from a former life.
I always try to note any serious condition issues. Please contact me if you have additional questions regarding
the condition of the item. Contact me for additional photos. If you are seeking a collectible which looks brand new please reconsider purchasing.
Our items are as described, but descriptions are subjective, after all.
Please note, if an item is returned within our
3 day return window, your payment will be returned, minus a 3 percent restocking fee (which represents credit card fees
which are never refunded to us by the processing companies). This applies only to orders which have been paid for via Mastercard, VISA, etc.
We do not issue refunds for shipping.
Layaway is available. A 20 percent non refundable deposit will secure the item and we will work with you
regarding the length of the layaway. We are fairly flexible, but require a payment each month. No refunds on layaway. Our policy requires post dated checks sent to us at one time(domestic customers),
where we can cash each payment each month, according to the date on the check. If paying via Paypal or credit card, we require your credit card information. You will be invoiced from Paypal for your monthly
payment (if using Paypal) or your credit card will be charged (if using credit card) and a receipt will be sent via email, However, if you are 10 days behind in making a payment (using Paypal), it is understood you authorize us to charge
the monthly payment on your credit card on file.
Please note, Ruby Lane's calculated shipping is an estimate and sometimes can be intimidating. Rest assured,
I only charge my actual shipping costs and will refund any excess you have paid. USPS shipping rates (both domestic and international)
continue to increase. I ship based on size of box (anything over 12" is considered oversized and charged a surcharge by USPS), weight, insurance and priority,
first class or express options. I will refund any excess you have paid. I do combine shipping for multiple purchases.
I have been struggling with fellow Ruby Lane dealers/customers who send me offers, and when I accept, they back out of the
offer, do not respond to emails, etc. Please do not purchase or send an offer unless you are willing to stand behind it and
keep your commitment to purchase. Many times I have to make a 60 mile round trip to pick up the item to pack it. I BLOCK all
non paying customers and customers who back out of Best Offer arrangements.
Please do not purchase an item to "reserve" it and block if from selling to others while you negotiate a lower price. A purchase order
is a commitment to buy the item at the price listed and not a pathway to put an item on "hold" while you ponder about honoring your
