About Andover AtticOur names are Paul and Jennifer. All of the items on here really ARE from our family's attic. We did not go out and purchase them for the purpose of reselling online. The dolls all belonged to my mother and are mostly from the 1930s to the 1950s. Many other items that will be posted soon are from Bentz Interiors in York, Pennsylvania. Jennifer's grandfather, Alfred C. Bentz (1901-1957), was an interior designer who opened his first store in the early 1930s. As his business grew he purchased larger and larger stores, finally opening his final location in March 1946 at 1638 W. Market Street, York, PA. Alfred took buying trips around the world, so pieces came from as close as New Jersey, Florida, and California and as far as South America and the Orient. After his untimely death in 1957, Alfred's wife, Dorcas Slothower Bentz, continued to run the store until it was sold in 1968 but the name "Bentz Interiors" remained prominently displayed high atop the building until decades later. Thanks for stopping by and check back often as we get more items posted!
