About UsOur business continues to have a brick and mortar location in Kensington, MD, and has been in the Washington, D.C. area for over 20 years. In 2016, we opened in exclusive antique centers in the South, specifically in Charleston, South Carolina. We are now exhibiting at Antiques at South Windermere and Seventeen South Antiques in West Ashley, Charleston, S.C.
Each of our Charleston locations has an individual flavor, reflecting the taste of the local clientele. We have utilized the Internet since 1997, and maintain a high presence within social media, allowing our clientele many options to keep in touch with us. Lawrence Perlmutter has been in the antiques business his entire life, opening his first shop in Bethesda, Maryland at the age of 11. Antiques are his passion and the scope of his knowledge and has been built on over 40 years of research and hands on experience. His photographic memory, has been an incredible asset to his profession. The magnitude of his knowledge in fine and decorative art , exhibits a great depth and confidence.
Karen Perlmutter, his wife, with a legal and business background, joined the business 28 years ago, and has developed a vast knowledge in fine jewelry and small decorative objects and collectibles. As the site will reveal, Karen has a keen and broad eye for unique examples of beautifully crafted jewels in both gold and silver. She appreciates quality and craftsmanship, both antique and contemporary.
