Regency Novelty Company of New York, managed by the Polowitz family, circa 1950s-1970s, produced impressive jewelry using the highest quality rhinestones, art glass and specialty stones in creative color combinations. Necklace, bracelets and brooches were often signed, earrings, rarely. Such is the case with the pair presented. Beautifully made with top shelf stones, including large dentelle faceted chatons in typical Regency pewter tone construction with donut hole clips, we are confident they are Regency's work.
The earrings measure approximately 1 1/4 inches across with a 1/2 inch profile or height. Large center smoky quartz colored rhinestone is about 11 millimeters; luster jet black marquises, approximately 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters; dentelle faceted crystal clear chatons, 9 millimeters and smoky quartz marquise rhinestones, 10 millimeters x 5 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is about 22 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and lustrous / sparkly. Dentelles uniformly clear and brilliant. No off color or dead stones. No chips, cracks or breaks to stones. No dents or improper bends to metal. Pewter tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Earring clips strong and secure. Riveting secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The earrings are not signed. They exhibit signature characteristics of Regency's work. Circa 1950 -1960s.
