Capri jewelry, circa 1952-1977, was owned by Sol Smith with operations in New York City. At one time the designs were produced by the Dan Kasoff Company (Florenza). Capri often featured botanical themes -- floral blossoms, shells, and in the example presented, a leaf. Solidly paved with pink chaton rhinestones, the gracefully arched leaf features a delicate roped border and finely textured golden stem.
The brooch measures about 2 1/2 inches x 1 1/4 inches with a 3/8 inch profile or dome. Chaton rhinestones are approximately 3 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 18 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone intact, retaining color and brilliance. No dark, cloudy, discolored or dead stones. All gold tone finish intact, front and back. No dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of brooch is signed within a rectangular cartouche: "CAPRI" copyright symbol preceding. Circa 1960s.
