Purple and fuchsia chatons are juxtaposed with subtle watermelon marquises and turquoise pears in this gentle crescent style rhinestone brooch and earrings set by Kramer of New York, circa 1960s. The set is topped by golden ribbons of pave set clear chaton rhinestones. Made famous by Eisenberg and Weiss, Kramer appreciated the allure of icing and used it to great effect in the set presented. Creative color combinations and coordination are atypical, particularly with the addition the bluish turquoise pears. And...please note that these color assignments are our own subjective assessments -- you and/or your monitor may perceive them differently. It's and edgier, more experimental Kramer.
The brooch measures approximately 2 3/4 inches x 1 3/8 inches at it's widest point with a generous 5/8 inch profile. Matching clip earrings are about 1 inch x 5/8 inch. Marquise rhinestones are approximately 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Largest chatons in the brooch are about 11 millimeters. Weigh of the brooch and earrings demi is approximately 34 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones intact, retaining color and sparkle. Please do keep in mind they are vintage and will not appear brand new. Ribbons or icing retain gold tone finish with uniformly clear and brilliant pave rhinestones. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism and earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs.
Each original earring clip is signed in block caps: "KRAMER" with copyright symbol following. The brooch is not signed but is a definite part of this demi. The set dates to the 1960s.
