The ubiquitous '50s vintage Weiss rhinestone bracelet. Synonymous with substance and style during the golden age of rhinestones. Jewelry was big, flashy and unabashedly fake. Hollywood took over our closets and we clamored for more. Weiss was there to realize, if only for the night, our dreams and what ifs. Diamonds may have been our best friends, but rhinestones could make our wishes come true.
The Weiss presented, circa 1950s, is designed in a crossover pattern. Five rows of chaton rhinestones taper into double rows that crossover and under the center marquise. Smaller marquises accent the corners and ends while large chatons balance the graduation. Large, retro Deco, silver tone end bars secure via fold over clasp.
The bracelet measures about 7 inches x nearly 1 inch (15/16 inch) wide. Largest marquise is approximately 15 millimeters; largest chatons, about 8 millimeters; smaller row chatons, approximately 4 millimeters. Weight of the bracelet is about 32 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone uniformly clear and brilliant. No dark, yellow, gray, cloudy or dead stones. All silver tone finish intact, front and back. All soldering secure. Clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of bracelet is signed in center on an oval cartouche: "WEISS" no copyright symbol. Design, materials, construction and overall presentation in conjunction with it's mark date the bracelet to the 1950s.
