Joseph Wiesner of New York produced high quality jewelry for a short time during the 1950s. Examples are extremely limited. Cody's is proud to present a pair of unusually large rhinestone earrings, measuring nearly 1 1/2 inches across. Plated in luxurious rhodium in a pinwheel design, the clip earrings are set with rare lazy "S" shaped rhinestones topped with arched bridges of small chaton rhinestones. At center, a dentelle faceted chaton rests. Incredible stone shapes, cuts, placement and dimension. The timing was perfect for Joseph Wiesner and the golden age of rhinestones. Bigger and brighter was always better.
The earrings measure approximately 1 7/16 inches across with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Center dentelle faceted chatons are about 9 millimeters. Lazy "S" stones are approximately 14 millimeters.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All stones intact and brilliant. No dark, cloudy or dead stones. (Please consider the vintage of the earrings -- stones will not appear brand new.) All rhodium plate intact, front and back. Earring clips secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of one earring body is signed: "WIESNER" , no copyright symbol visible. Also please note that the signature is worn at either so we see a partial "W". partial "E" at end and worn "R". It is the unmistakable Wiesner mark.
