Smoky quartz colored rhinestones, so called black diamonds, became enormously popular in the 1950s-1960s -- used by all the major houses of the day. BSK (Steinberg, Slovitt, and Kaslo 1948-1980s) followed suit with it's wonderful lacy "two tone" leaves brooch and earring set, circa 1960s. Half the frilly leafs are finished in shiny tipped, finely textured silver tone -- the other, paved with brilliant smoke (gray) colored chaton rhinestones. Equally subtle and striking. Top shelf BSK in pristine vintage condition.
The brooch measures approximately 2 inches x 1 inch with a 3/8 inch maximum profile or height. Matching omega clip earrings are about 1 1/16 inches x 5/8 inch. Accent chaton rhinestones are approximately 2 millimeters. Weight of the brooch and earrings set is 24 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones intact, retaining even, smoky quartz color and as new brilliance. No off or dead stones. All silver tone finish intact, fronts and backs. No dents or improper bends to metal components. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism and earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Pristine vintage.
Reverse of the brooch and each earring is signed: "BSK" with copyright symbol. Circa 1960s.
Bask in the brilliance of BSK. Smoke gets in your eyes. At Cody's.
