Two sections of large, voluminous golden bows, one with rhinestone tipped ribbon, swirl around a third section of sweeping rhinestone streamers in this '30s vintage Art Deco brooch in golden and silvered pot metal. Bold casting and three section construction lend incredible drama and dimension with the added pop of pave set rhinestone ribbon tip and trailers. Bow loops and ribbon are in golden finish while ribbon tip and trailers are in topped in silver tone to maximize rhinestone sparkle. Base metal is heavy, period pot metal.
The brooch measures a respectable 2 3/4 inches x 2 inches with a 1/2 inch maximum profile or height. Largest chaton rhinestones are about 3 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 40 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone intact, retaining sparkle. Some stones may have dimmed slightly due to age. Gold tone and silver tone finishes intact. No dents, improper bends or crush to metal. All sections securely attached. Pin mechanism secure. Shaft has slight bends not affecting function. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Minor age commensurate wear. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is not signed. It's design, materials, construction and overall presentation indicate a 1930s-early 1940s vintage.
