Weiss gives you the blues big time with a silver tone domed, layered leaf brooch laden with blue navette, blue aurora borealis marquise, and blue aurora borealis chaton rhinestones. A stem set with green chaton rhinestones accents.
Albert Weiss, formerly of Coro, founded Weiss aka Weissco in 1942. Signature features included the black diamond look of smoky quartz colored rhinestones, floral jewels in the long stemmed beauties line and Weiss' Christmas jewelry, among others. Production ended in 1971.
The example presented is approximately 2 3/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches with a 1/2 inch profile or dome. Large marquise rhinestones are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 20 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant, retaining colors and aurora borealis treatment. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All soldering secure. No dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. All silver tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed within an oval cartouche: "WEISS". Circa 1950s-1960s.
