Hobe's ruffle brooch and earrings set, circa 1950s, features a domed brooch with three layers of finely textured brass tone ruffles cradling lustrous chalk white glass marquises cabochons. Bottom tier of brooch also includes a ring of smoky quartz colored chaton rhinestones. At pinnacle a large smoky quartz colored chaton rhinestone complements. Matching clip earrings complete with single ruffles and milk glass cabs, topped with smoky quartz colored chaton rhinestones.

The brooch measures about 2 inches across with an impressive 3/4 inch profile or dome. Earrings are approximately 1 inch across with a 3/8 inch dome. Large smoky quartz chaton rhinestones are about 8 millimeters; milk glass marquises, 8 millimeters x 4 millimeters. Weight of the brooch and earrings set is 34 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All cabs intact, retaining white shade. No stains or marks. All smoke rhinestones intact, retaining color and sparkle. No dark, cloudy or dead stones. Brass tone finish intact. Age appropriate patina. There may be a slight silver tone base metal apparent along edges of ruffles. Reverse of brooch and earrings display mostly silver tone metal finish. No dents, improper bends, crush or collapse. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism and earring clips strong and secure. (Earring paddles retain their original characteristic Hobe roller balls.) No damage / no repairs. Age consistent patina / wear. Excellent vintage.

Reverse of brooch is signed within an oval cartouche: "Hobe" with copyright symbol above. Each original earring clip signed: "Hobe". Circa 1950s.
