The maple leaf, a symbol of wisdom, connection and unity, is beautifully rendered in Trifari's distinctive burnished gold tone finish (pre Trifanium) and set with brilliant baguette and chaton rhinestones. The pin / pendant hails from Trifari's "Pat. Pend." years, circa 1940s-early 1950s, before a copyright symbol was marked on it's jewelry beginning in 1954-55. A version of this brooch / pendant can be seen in a 1950 print ad in Julia. C. Carroll's "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202".
The piece presented features the sugar maple's veins and stem set with clear baguette rhinestones. Chaton rhinestone accent throughout. On reverse of stem section a concealed loop allows the leaf to be worn on a necklace chain of your choice.
The pin / pendant measures about 1 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Baguette rhinestones are approximately 4 millimeters x 2 millimeters. Weight of the piece is 12 grams.
