The D. Lisner Company of New York, circa 1938-1985 marketed for Elsa Schiaparelli, contracted with Whiting & Davis and partnered with Urie Mandle. You may know the company for it's wonderful glittering rhinestone sets and colorful resin parures. Widely regarded as one of the major costume jewelry suppliers during the golden age of rhinestones, Lisner wowed the public with nearly 50 years of fantasy.
The brooch presented, circa 1960s, features high domed gold tone lace or ribbon like borders. The brooch's square shape has rounded corners and a diamond shaped center, each section densely set with sparkling chaton and marquise rhinestones. Lisner provides bold brilliance with a lacey lightness.
The brooches measures approximately 2 inches across (side to side) with a generous 1/2 inch dome or profile. Largest chatons are about 6 millimeters; marquises, 8 millimeters x 4 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 36 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone intact, and uniformly clear and brilliant. No dark, cloudy or dead stones. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. No improper bends, dents, crush or collapse. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
