This stunning octagonal chop plate is almost 13" wide and dates from the mid-19th centurt. We have not seen this form before. The center well is approximately 8" across which suggests that it is a chop plate or platter rather than an underplate. We have rated it as excellent. There is all over crazing and glaze pops on the front. There is a hairline visible on the bottom that does not show through. There are two under rim chips as shown. They are not readily visible when viewed from the top. The platter is not stained and has a deep intense flow. This is a stunning piece of a hard to find pattern even with the blemishes noted.
