This is a fabulous purse frame, dating from the Edwardian era, - early 1900's. It is a gilded metal and has a great enamel design.
The design, at center, shows a large flower pot with roses pouring out. The roses are done in red enamel and the leaves are a green enamel. At either end of the frame is a repousse scrolled and floral design. There is a small pendant hanging from the center of the frame that is shell shaped and has a raised flower on it.
There is a knob atop to open the purse, and a chain handle. Would look fabulous with your petit point purse or perhaps a velvet one.
The frame has a length of 6". It is 2 1/4" wide at the center including the knob and hanging pendant. It is in wonderful vintage condition.
