This would make a wonderful wall plaque or you could actually use it as a tray to carry wine glasses or put a plate of cheese on. It has been decorated on the side with the hot poker leaving brown indents. The center is smooth where the grape outline has been burned and then hand painted. The edge has a small piece missing so please see pictures for condition.
Pyrography is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. It is also known as pokerwork or wood burning. The Flemish Art Company of New York City played so big a part in that phenomenon, the term "Flemish art" became synonymous with pyrography.
