This is The Greater American Cook Book Edited by Ruth Berolzheimer, Consolidated Book Publishers, Inc. Chicago, Ill. , c. 1942.
"The Greater American Cook Book consists of ten principal sections, each devoted to a characteristic American style of cooking, complete with a large number of recipes and detailed discussions of procedures. The Southern, the Pennsylvania Dutch, the New England, the Western and many others equally delightful are included. This is actually ten cook books in one." (Introduction)
There are 751 tab indexed pages in this cookbook in addition to full color photos and illustrations. There is some separation between the covers and end pages but the pages are all intact. There is rubbing on the corners and age-related edge wear. The interior pages are smooth and clean. This would make a wonderful addition to any vintage cook book collection.
