This is a nice old vintage bail handle stew stockpot. It is gray/grey agateware, also referred to as enamelware and graniteware. It is gray with lighter gray mottling.
This lovely pot could be used in many decorating themes. It works well with a rustic, country, primitive or farmhouse decor. It would even look well in a monochromatic setting.
It measures approximately 8 3/4 “ in diameter, and is 5” deep. The bail handle would add another 6” to its height.
It dates to the early part of the 1900’s.
It was an everyday utilitarian item and it shows its age and history. It has some enamel loss on the inside and on the bottom and sides. The bottom shows signs of burning and the enamel on the inside bottom of the pan has lost its shine.
Inv. Loc. RBC 8
