This is a lovely early hard to find brown transferware plate by E. J. D. Bodley in the Thorn pattern. The pattern has also been referred to as EBD1. It is impressed on the back "Ivory, E. J. D. Bodley". It also has a Registry that dates the plate to around 1882. The plate has a floral border and gold gilt around the rim. The rim is decorated with gold gilt lines. The plate is decorated with brown branches that have small pink flowers and thorns.
It measures approximately 7 ¼" in diameter.
The condition of the plate is good. There are some normal utensil marks. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.
