Maybe we're too easily impressed but this Art Deco era clip is just amazing. The effort that someone went to to make this one jeweled clip is just staggering.
It's made of heavy gold-plated metal. There's a flower in the center which is set with faux blue sapphires and little faux diamonds. The rest of the clip has channel set faux rubies and more little faux diamonds.
It occurred to us that this might be a clip from an Adolf Katz Coro Duette. After a lengthy search, we couldn't find this particular design.
It measures 1 1/2 inches across by 1 3/4 inches high. The clip mechanism is strong. There are no markings.
There's some age-appropriate wear to metal...not much...and some dulling to a few stones. Still, it's very wearable on a neckline, over a chain necklace, clipped to a hat, handbag or scarf. So beautiful, it could be in a frame.
