This is a lovely little notebook which has been finished in Mauchline Style. The front and back are lacquered wood, and the spine is leather. There are lots of shiny pages, on which nothing has ever been written, even though there is a little pencil on the side. On the front is a photo of a place in Wales. Even though this is a little notebook, someone, most likely the owner, has added five photographs. The owner has cut the little slits, and inserted the pictures. The notebook measures 3 and 1/2 inches North to South, 2 and 1/4 East to West, and is 1/2 inch thick. The nicest things about this notebook is the pencil written note in the back. It reads as follows: "4 students living in Movven 1987/88 explored the top floor rooms and found all these wonderful and fascinating possessions of Mrs. Mary Williams. What a history! Signed Caroline White, Movven, 1/11/87." This circa 1880 notebook is in excellent condition.
