"An Introduction To Model Railways" was edited by Pat Hornsey and copyrighted in 1977. This oversized book is a treasure of beautiful photographs illustrating model locomotives. It offers the novice model maker tips on building a model railway in various gauges (Gauge 1, O Gauge, OO Gauge, HO Gauge, EM & P4 Gauge, TT Gauge and N & Z Gauge). Contents include "Scenic Modelling, Buildings and Scratchbuilding to name a few. Also included are full page spreads exemplifying different railway models. They include: "From Diggle to Westport: K. Longbottom; Buckingham Great Central: Rev Peter Denny; and The Fraddon and Tretford Joint Railway: Ken Ball" to name a few. This book is 129 numbered pages with a dozen or so more photo illustrations in the back. This book was published in England and has its original dust jacket. The book measures 14" x 9 3/4" and is in very good vintage condition. The dust jacket has some tearing at the spine and chipping at the edges. The price has been clipped from the inside cover flap. The inside pages are bright, unsoiled and so no signs of yellowing. This is a fabulous book for the train enthusiast or model builder alike.
