Established in 1901 and closed in 1916 the Rotary Photographic Company may best be known for their real photo postcards of English Royalty. With the use of the rotary presses for printing though, the Rotary Photographic Company actually introduced mass produced real photograph postcards to England. This Real Photo Christmas Postcard features a tinted sepia toned photo of two smiling children posed in a Victorian baby carriage with a gift tag attached. Also decorated with roses and holly, the verse is signed Willmer. The card has an embossed leaf pattern border and the entire photo and verse area is slightly raised. The front of the card has a laminate like glossy protective coating that has maintained the antique card in beautiful condition for 100 years. The card is marked "Rotary Photo E. C." and is part of series X.C. 286-B. The back of the card is covered with a hand written message but the printed identifications of the postcard as a Real Photograph, as part of the Rotary Photographic Series, and published in Britain remain legible. There is no post mark. Very Good / Excellent Condition.
