Beautiful brooch in gold color metal. Wonderful overlay of leaves and flowers on a scalloping frame. Gorgeous piece of polished agate with clear translucent and earthy opaque colors. Caramel and cream hues. Does not show indications of plating but, does Not acid test for gold. I've seen many pieces in this style with same characteristics designated as pinchbeck but, without an accepted testing method, I cannot guarantee the material. This piece may have originally been intended to be a bracelet clasp as the side shows an opening for a v spring tab. However, the tube hinge and c clasp look to be original. 2.5 inches by 1 3/8 inches. Very 3 dimensional. Pin stem fits/stays securely in the clasp. Wears beautifully as a necklace when threaded onto a silk ribbon. Very Good condition.
