Here is the darling Hull Pottery Little Red Riding Hood small Salt and Pepper Set. Each Little Red Riding Hood has blue eyes, round pink cheeks, and blond hair peeking out from under her famous red hood. Her cape is tied with a gold bow, and her dress is decorated with blue lines at the collar and the hem of her skirt. The front of her skirt is decorated with a decal of a single orange-red poppy pointing downward on a green stem. Her yellow and brown closed basket is looped over her left arm.
Little Red Riding Hood was patented by Louise Bauer in 1943 for Hull Pottery and was one of its most popular lines, continuing in production until around 1957. Though most of the work was actually done by Regal China, Little Red Riding Hood continues to be known by collectors as Hull Pottery.
Each shaker is 3-1/4 inches tall and about 2-1/2 inches in diameter at the base. There is no mark.
The cork in one of the shakers is missing. There are minimal tiny glaze flakes and pops in the red of the hoods, and the red of one is a higher gloss than the other. The gold on the ties of the capes show minimal wear. There is no visible crazing.
