Made from dark brown wool felt, this vintage helmet style hat exudes the fashion style of the swinging 60s and that was described so often back in the day with just one word…..MOD! With it’s high rounded crown and just the smallest little brim extending out ever so subtly, it has just one sleek little detail and that would be a brash link chain at the front of the hat. And, that’s really all it needs to be a “sign of the fashion times”! The inside of this vintage hat is unlined but does have an inner dark brown grosgrain ribbon hatband. Meant to be worn upright on the head, it can actually be worn any way you like!
Condition: Very Good
Possibly when the hat was new, the brass chain may have been a bit more shiny and bright. It now has a lovely patina but still looks smashing in contrast to the deep brown wool felt. The inner grosgrain hatband has some minor wear and soiling but certainly not bad for this hat’s age. The outside of the hat looks very clean and has no moth nibbles.
Stamped into the inner crown in white is the maker of the body of this hat: 100% Wool, Glenover by Henry Pollak, Inc., New York
