On a personal note, I've loved flowers ever since I was a little girl, planting seeds my Mother gave me just about anywhere I could find an available patch of dirt. I've grown just about any flower my gardens could accommodate, from old rugosa roses to tall stands of huge bearded iris, giant zinnias, and dinnerplate dahlias. I was drawn to old rose paintings and vintage prints by what I call "curb appeal", and began my lifetime love of antique hunting in my early teens.
I am the author of the book The Life and Art of Paul de Longpre, based on the works of the highly acclaimed French Victorian watercolor artist. I have written several published essays in the American Art Review, RosaMundi, and the Fan Association of North America, as well as being interviewed on Ruby Lane's Blog Talk Radio.
We list wonderful and unique Victorian books from our personal collection. They include Victorian Etiquette, Decorum, Language and Poetry of Flowers, Medical and Scientific Quack, and old cookbooks, some of which include entertaining ideas on Victorian courting, fashion, and sex. Our shop specializes in books that are gift and library-worthy condition.
We enjoy fly fishing here in the Pacific Northwest. I am a Certified Graphoanalyst (handwriting expert), and am a member of American MENSA.
