A rare and large antique Dresden Germany porcelain double-handled urn / vase. Magnificent detailing on this piece, hand painted throughout with impasto raised gold enamel on a cobalt blue ground. The entire body and lid feature elaborate raised gold ornamentation patterned with stylized scrolling foliate, floral motifs, and a multitude of raised dots or 'jewels' . Flanked with gilded handles. Finished with a stunning lid topped with a gilded finial. To the front and back are vignettes of a classical Greek mythological scene, hand painted in gold gilt with raised enamel details. Resting on a pedestal base, ornately decorated with scrolled foliage, flowers and raised accents. Quite large and impressive. Measures 21" in total height x 9 5/8" in diameter at the opening. Marked at the base with a blue lamb for Ambrosius Lamm, Dresden Germany. Circa 1891. In good antique condition. General wear to the gold gilding, some missing gold dots or 'jewels'. There is a flat flake located on the base, this is on the side and visible in the pictures. This flaw is on a flat surface of the base and can be easily repaired / touched up.
