About UsWELCOME TO VINTAGE CORNUCOPIA!
We invite you to browse and to enjoy international collection of LUXURIOUS, UNDERSTATED YET GLAMOROUS ELEGANCE, REASONABLE PRICES AND FRIENDLY ADVICE ON JEWELRY, FASHION OR HOME DECOR.
The Vintage Cornucopia offers an ageless and a multi- generational selections. Whether you wish to enhance your own collection or make a special gift, we have a lot to offer.
By the way of introduction, I am not an antique dealer. However, I am a person who had been exposed throughout her life to high end jewelry and objets-d'art and have amassed quite a sizable collection of same through purchases, gifts and inheritance,
One day, some years ago, I was showing a friend my jewelry and fashions collections. Opening one drawer after another, my friend exclaimed: "You have an honest to goodness HORN OF PLENTY (CORNUCOPIA). It is plentiful enough to open an online store!"
By then, I was retired from a most demanding executive position but was not ready to idle around. My PR and Marketing experience brought me in touch with people, both internationally and domestically, and I did not want to retire from all this as well....
So, with some trepidation, I said to my friend, a successful marketing professional: "Why don't we? I mean, open an online store?" And so, after consulting a number of different marketing experts, having received a positive feedback and adding to the mix a technology and computer wiz, THE VINTAGE CORNUCOPIA was born.
The process has proven to be much more involved than I could have imagined. The endless hours spent on researching and learning more about the fine and fashion jewelry, art, home decor, glass, porcelain and crystal wares in my possession, have taken the better part of the two years. It had not only enhanced my knowledge but had also brought many unexpected rewards, not least of which was the in-depth exposure to e-commerce and social media. At present, in addition to selling on-line, I continue my studies, deepening my knowledge of fashion jewelry and other collectibles and am now a member of a number of semi-professional associations and study groups in the field.
The designer jewelry and other collections reflect my personal tastes acquired during various periods of my life - hence its variety. It began with my mother's inheritance and, gradually grew to include items purchased during my international travels. Since, discovering the online shopping in the 1980's, I had added to my collection a vast selection of the late Joan Rivers, Nolan Miller, Kenneth Jay Lane beautiful costume jewelry. My modern silver collection is designed by renowned American and international designers, such as David Yurman, Judith Ripka, Yaacov Heller and more. Most of the fashion accessories, offered here, were purchased in Europe in designers' boutiques such as Fendi, Chanel, Christian Dior, Nina Ricci, et al. The extensive nature of my jewelry collection means that I have not worn many of the jewelry pieces more than once, and most of them-- never. Unfortunately, in most of the cases, I have not kept the original brand packaging and tags.
Since opening my store on Ruby Lane, I have supplemented my collection with an inventory of the vintage jewelry of the famous American costume jewelry designers whose art I had studied during the last two years.
Each item offered here has been carefully photographed, edited, researched, documented and authenticated. Since each of them comes from my personal collection, the year of provenance, condition, usage and the value estimates are authentic and are reflected in their respective descriptions. Wherever applicable, we have included historic and other data about the various artists and designers. The requested value is based not only on some of purchase receipts in my possession, but ,primarily, on the appraisals and authentication by experts in the field, as well as by my vast research of values of similar objects on various designers' sites, art galleries, e-shop networks and auctions.
We hope that you would enjoy browsing our website. We are available to answer any questions you may have and would greatly appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
