About Us

Welcome to my Ruby Lane Shop!

I offer a carefully chosen selection of wonderful antique and vintage jewellery as well as small antiques and collectables.These are usually English or French but sometimes whatever takes my eye!

Let me introduce myself. I am English and now live in Suffolk, a beautiful county in the east of England. I recently got remarried to John, a very old friend who was also widowed. He is helping me to continue the business built up with my late husband, Peter. I am hoping that my niece will also join me in the business. My daughter, Catherine Graham, is an artist and lives and works in Halifax Yorkshire. Yorkshire is where I went too for a degree in French with Spanish.

My long career with John Lewis, a well respected chain of British Department Stores, has been about selling, buying, administration and management. So that is why, when I decided to retire early, I became passionate about selling online and, in particular, antique and vintage jewellery.I have been building my business on eBay over the last seventeen years and on Ruby Lane for eleven years.

My business name is Suzy Lemay. Lemay was my grandmother's maiden name and she was of French origin.

My other career has been as a teacher of French and I also speak some Spanish and Italian.

I specialise in British, French and Scandinavian jewelry from Victorian to Vintage. I seek out the very best items I can and they have been personally and carefully selected. I aim for a wide price range so I hope everyone can find something to please them.

I believe in the highest standards of customer service - accurate descriptions, clear photos, fast shipping and good communications. I also love to offer layaway so that something expensive can be affordable to all. My aim is your satisfaction so that you will return to my shop. I aim to respond quickly to your email enquiries and am happy to accept returns within three days of receipt. As soon as I receive the item back I will immediately issue a refund less original postage.
