This is a set of three different Jolly Time puzzles in their original box. The box features one of the puzzles. It has an organ grinder and his monkey delighting not only the children but also the black mammy watching from behind the picket fence. Another of the puzzles has two children practicing archery with a Scotty dog nearby. There’s a hop scotch laid out on the sidewalk and a couple of cars parked in the background. The last puzzle has children having fun in the yard on swings, a teeter-totter and on a long slide with fun graphics. In each puzzle there are a few puzzle pieces that are in familiar shapes like a duck, and elephant, a horse and a goat. This is the All-Fair #410 Series A set of puzzles from the E.E.Fairchild Corp. of Rochester, New York. With the mammy featured on the front I believe these are probably from the late 1940’s – 1950’s.
Each puzzle measures about 6 ¾” by 9 ½” and is complete and in nice but used condition with minor wear. A few of the pieces have creases but none are torn off. The puzzle with the slide seems to have been the favorite with the most wear. The box is in fair condition with edge and corner wear, creases and minor soiling. The bottom of the box has remnants of paper having been glued to it.
