This is an old bottle brush decoration in the shape of a candy cane. The bristled cane is decorated with gold tinted pine cones, plastic flowers, foil leaves and small fruit and berry like pieces made of coated plaster or composition. The ends of the bristles are tipped with large glitter and in the center of the candy cane is a silver edged red bow. It appears there was never a hanging device but I can see this hung on a nail on the front door to welcome holiday guests. I would assume that is was made in Japan and from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
It measures about 12 ¼” long and the bottle brush measures about 1 ¼” in diameter. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. Some of the painted surface is chipped off of the fruit pieces, especially on the red berries under the bow.
