This beautiful perfume bottle has a sensuous shape, nice ornamentation and a stylish stopper. Lightly textured, mottled finish is often referred to as gold encrusted or rotten gold. The glass which is not covered by this finish is translucent and in this case is either amber colored glass or possibly clear glass that has an amber flashing. A thin hand painted line in a zig-zag pattern separates the decorated and undecorated glass to complete the design. It has a brass cap with a thin beaded detail and the glass rod dropper is attached to a brass acorn style cap. I find no signature but I am quite comfortable is saying that it was made by Devilbiss and I believe it is from the 1920’s or 1930’s.
It measures about 6 ¼” to the top of the finial and the base measures about 2 ¼” in diameter. The glass rod measures about 2 ¾” long. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and no chips or cracks in the glass. Some of the gold is worn from the edge of the base. It is empty but the fragrance is still strong when the lid is off.
