This old razor is for the man who wants to get away from it all yet also be freshly shaven! The Norelco razor has the double rotating heads and is housed in a maroon Bakelite case. A chrome cap keeps the heads protected when not in use. The attached maroon cord has the small, round, double prong end which fits into either of the two power sources. One source is the metal battery pack which doubles as a travel mirror. The battery box takes 3, 1 ½ volt, D cell batteries (not included). The cord can also be plugged into the adapter which allows the razor to be used with a car’s cigarette lighter. This razor does work using either. The mirror on the battery box is a piece of polished metal, not glass and on the back is a stand to make it easier to use. The razor and the battery pack are both marked Made in Holland. All of the pieces fit neatly in the zippered leather pouch that has the Norelco Sportsman on the top. The inside is lined with a plaid fabric to give it the feel of outdoor camping gear. I believe this is from the early 1950’s.
The razor is in very nice condition. As previously mentioned it does work but I can’t vouch for how well it might shave. The battery case is in good condition with nice color and gloss but there is a little paint loss on the edges. The mirror is nicely reflective and only faintly scratched. The case measures about 6 5/8” by 5 ¾” by 2” high and is in worn condition on the outside with staining and the loss of some stitching. The inside is pretty clean with a little thread fraying and a small hole in the bottom fabric.
