This is an interesting old watch chain in a style less often seen. The watch would be attached to the swiveled spring clip end which would then be placed in the pocket. The wide chain portion would hang on the outside with a decorative fob hanging from the bottom jump ring. Between the ornate top and bottom cap pieces there are three section with five attached, diamond shaped shields. The shields have attached loops at the top and bottom and there are wide jump rings connecting the sections. This is a gold filled or rolled gold piece and is unmarked.
Overall it measures about 5” long from the spring clip to the bottom jump ring and it measures about 1 1/6 at the widest part. It is in nice condition with light wear for the age. There is a little base metal showing through on the top side but mostly on the back side where most of the gold is worn off. The spring end for the watch seems to work properly. There is one jump ring missing along the side which can be seen in the photos and which has been taken into consideration in the price.
