This young lady in an old piece of pottery. She’s has light auburn hair, very stylized facial features and is dressed in a long flowing dress with polka dots. There’s a yellow sash about her waist and the hat she carries in her left hand is the perfect accompaniment to her outfit. Her head is tilted and her right arm is extended make her look a bit wistful. She is not marked on the bottom but she has characteristics of being made by one of the many California potteries. Her checks are in the fashion of Heidi Schoop and Kim Ward and her sweetheart mouth is in Kim Wards style. The colors are in a palette like Max Weil used and although not nearly as overall refined, the flowing drapes of the dress are fashioned like a Florence Ceramic piece. I have not been able to definitively attribute this to any company in particular but I am pretty sure that it is from one of the Southern California artisans of the 1940’s and 1950’s.
She measures about 6” high she’s in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage.
