Vintage Halloween Decoration - Die Cut Pirate Pumpkin Face
This old die cut and embossed paper pumpkin is for Halloween decorating. It is made of a lightweight cardboard that is die cut and heavily embossed with painted feature. The j-o-l is an unusual because he is dressed in as a pirate with a hat that has an embossed skull and cross bones. On either end of the hat there is a tiny pumpkin for even more fun. There are also two black pieces on the side of his face, maybe they’re suppose to represent hair. Embossed along one edge is; Germany. At the top there is a tiny hole that has thread for hanging the ornament. I believe this piece is from the 1920’s - 1930’s period.
It measures about 5 3/8” at the widest by 5 3/8” high and is in very nice condition with minor wear. There are a few places, primarily on the two “side burns” and a little on the hat, where the paper surface is cracked and the paint is lightly worn.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
