This old ice cream dipper was manufactured by the F.S. Co. of Troy New York. It is made of nickel plated brass with a painted wood handle. The round, size 16 bowl (sixteen scoops to the quart) is marked on the back side of the bowl as well as on the wiper. On the back of the shaft it has the patent date of Mar. 23 1915. The thumb lever reads; Clipper F.S.Co. 4.
It is in very good condition with minimal wear. The spring mechanism works well. The plating is good with minimal blemishes. There are nicks on the shaft probably from being rapped against an ice cream carton edge. The finish on the handle is very good with very little wear. Overall it's a very clean ice cream scoop in original condition. It measures about 10 3/4" in length and the bowl measures about 2 1/4" in diameter.
