This old celluloid tape measure is advertising the Boston Sea Food House and features a lobster on one side. On the opposing side it gives the list of specialties; Sea Food, Steaks and Chops with the Buffalo, New York address. It was made by the Parisian Novelty Company of Chicago with a patent of 1919. The yellow cloth tape has inch increments on one side only.
It measures about 1 7/16” in diameter and is in fairly nice condition. The celluloid on the back side has some light bumps and there is a dent in the celluloid band between the two sides as shown in the pictures. The tape is in fairly good condition also with minor fraying and soiling. It pulls out and retracts but with a little hesitation.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
