This brightly colored old tin once held a silicone car polish called Autobrite. This was from a time when people, by hand, waxed and polished their own cars! This product supposedly cleaned and polished and would outlast other car wax-polishes of the time. The yellow, blue and red graphics are enhanced by the vintage car on the front. This was manufactured by Boyle-Midway Inc. of N.J., Ga., Ill., and Calif.. It has a screw on lid showing that reads; A Johnson’s Wax Product. I cannot find a connection between Boyle-Midway and the company that produced the Johnson’s Wax products so the lid, although it fits well and appears to be of the same vintage, may not be the proper lid.
This empty tin measures about 2 7/8” by 1 ½” by 7 ¼” high and is nice condition with good color and gloss and light scratch wear. The top has some minor rust and discoloration. As previously stated, the lid may not be original.
