Cocktail parties were all the rage in the late 1950’s and early 60’s and there were dozens of novel cocktail napkins on the market. Often these were slightly off color jokes or other humorous subjects but few were as creative as the Eggbert series. These vintage paper napkins are the Eggbert II series. On the same principle as the movie Look Who’s Talking, these are little glimpses of what an unborn baby might think and “say”. Each is a drawing of a womb with a cute baby with a funny line of thought like; "After all these months I kinda hate to leave the old joint!" and "What a cutie, she’s practicing lullabies"! Each has the artists initials; LAF. There were originally 36 napkins in the box, only 14 remain with 8 different designs. They have a scalloped edge and a 1961 copyright by Monogram of California.
They measure about 4 1/2” by 4 5/8” in their folded state and are in fairly good condition with some age discoloration along the edges. The box almost 5” square and in fair condition with edge wear, light soiling and a torn corner.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
