About Nicoll Fine Art & Antiques

Gordon and Mary Nicoll started buying oriental rugs in 1972 at the suggestion of a friend. That led to learning about American Indian Art, American Paintings and American &English Furniture
In our 48 years, we have handled many artists estates, including Jesse L France ,Eurilda L France, William J Kaula, Marion Powers, William Kirkpatrick, Eric Hudson, Charles Dodge, Waldo Peirce, William &Margurite Zorach.
We also helped build many major collections including the Elizabeth Noyce collection, which is now in the Farnsworth Museum and The Portland Museum of Art
We started doing shows in the 1970s for John & Liz DeSimone in Portland, Westbrook and Kennebunk, Maine, Barnstable and Hingham MA. Boston for Sonia Paine and Art Boston.
In 1989 we started doing major antique shows for the Wendy’s in New York City, Morristown NJ, Washington DC ,Chicago, Charleston SC Greenwich, and Darian CT. Other major shows for Allman Promotions, Barn Star Productions, Hal Mclane, and Charlie Miller in Vero Beach ,Venice, and Jacksonville FL. Currently Scott’s Market in Atlanta, and Paul Davis in Concord MA and the Maine Antiques Festival in Union, Maine.
We exhibited at Harborview Center for Antiques in Stamford CT which was considered the best group shop in the world , at the time.
