About UsAntique jewelry has always been a passion of mine and, over the years, I have researched it and invested in a number of pieces. Australia has a rich source of Victorian and Edwardian jewelry due to its establishment as a British colony. Colonial Australian jewelry really wasn't produced until after the discovery of gold in the 1850s. I am fascinated by the history of different pieces of jewelry and the fact that they have been worn and treasured by other women so that they have survived until today. I like to collect Australian made jewelry when I can but also love mourning jewelry and Grand Tour pieces.
I am a qualified gemologist, having completed a Diploma of Gemmology through the Gemmological Association of Australia. I have also completed a Practical Diamond Grading Course. You might be interested in my blog on antique jewelry under the heading of NavetteJewellery at the Wordpress site.
I have a small stall within an antique center in Melbourne. I do move pieces that have been on Ruby Lane for a few months into my shop so if there are pieces you were interested in, let me know and I can put them up on Ruby Lane again if they are still available.
