About UsWe have been in the antique business since 1984 when we took our first buying trip to Europe. Our family house was in Kent, just south of London, and just across from Calais, France via the English Channel. We loved this ancient house, built in 1107 and a Grade I* English Heritage Listed Building.
Our main focus in the following years was 17th and 18th-century furniture, and in 1993 we opened a shop in Menlo Park, California where we were successful and happy while raising our family there. After 9/11 we closed our shop in 2003, taking some time to choose our next adventure.
We moved home to England in 2009, turning our home into a bed & breakfast, enjoying the change of venue as well as focusing on antique linens. Twenty-four years had passed since we started our original business, and we returned to our growing family California in 2016.
Our interest in heirloom christening gowns began when our first child was born in 1980 and when our first grandchild was born in 2007, our interest was rekindled! We love discovering the charming variations of custom-made heirloom gowns that were made anywhere from 1800 onwards. Each one tells a story and for us, it is our journey that we share with you!
