About Métier Paris
Our Service PledgeMétier Paris, launched in 2006, reflects the best of the French word "métier", or one's specialized craft, in items dating from ancient times to the early 20th century. After a decade in business with a world-wide clientele, we will continue to focus on antique jewelry and small objets d'art. Our selection is purposely small as we seek out rare, unique and highly sought after items of the best quality. We represent all items accurately, have a money-back guarantee for risk-free buying. See our sales terms for questions about layaway plans, guarantees, shippingcosts and returns. We welcome all comments and questions, and thank you for your interest.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
See the following section on EU transactions for more complete details. Refunds will be given if you are in any way dissatisfied with your purchase based on the following conditions:
1. The item is returned in the same condition in which it was sold (undamaged) by the same shipping method;
2. No refund will be given until the item has been returned;
3. If an item is lost in the mail no refund will be given until the loss has been proven and declared by the chosen carrier.
4. Shipping fees (both to and from you) and Paypal fees incurred by Metier Paris are non-refundable.
5. A 10% restocking fee plus the shipping costs will be charged if a package is returned because the buyer was not available to receive it and made no alternative plans to receive it.
About UsEUROPEAN UNION TERMS OF SALE
We comply with all terms of sale required by the European Union. They include the following terms, which are detailed elsewhere on this page under Shipping, Returns and general Terms of Service:
-- All items are returnable within 14 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the BUYER.
-- All items are shipped within 3 business days of purchase, exceptional circumstances such as death or illness in the family not withstanding, at which point shipping date will be clearly communicated.
-- Shipping times vary depending on your location. See the shipping section to determine the **approximate** duration of transit to your country. Be sure to note where our shipping responsibilities begin and end.
-- Shipping charges fluctuate over time due to changing exchange rates and postal increases. Shipping from France can be expensive, so be sure to ask before making your purchase. Shipping fees will vary depending on your location and the amount of insurance required to fully cover your item.
-- Customs duties, import taxes and fees are the responsibility of the BUYER. Antique items more than 100 years old are **generally** free of duty if they are for personal use, be sure to check with your local agencies.
-- Returns can be made in EITHER the US, where we have an address, or France.
All items are shipped priority mail with tracking and insurance. Expedited shipping, or shipping by a preferred carrier like FedEx, will be charged at cost.
The buyer will appreciate that we have no control over shipping times. The following is a list of AVERAGE shipping times per country, including weekends. NOTE: inclement weather, national holidays, political unrest, postal or transport strikes, volcanic eruptions, or government coups in either location may significantly delay your shipment. While we will do everything possible to ensure packages arrive in a timely manner, we cannot be held responsible for events beyond our control. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that they or a trusted party are available to receive a package.

We want our customers to be happy and our transactions trouble-free. We hope these guidelines will help expedite that goal.
REGARDING THE SALE OF ITEMS DERIVED FROM PROTECTED SPECIES: France designates all antique organic items (defined by the French government as items created before 1947) as legal for sale and shipment within France and the E.U. Other countries have created their own restrictions regarding the purchase and importation of protected organic items. Depending on the residency of the buyer, restrictions may apply. Buyers residing outside the European Union may experience delays if additional documentation is required by their country. It is incumbent on the BUYER to be sure that the item is legal for purchase and importation into their country, and to obtain any necessary documentation required by their local agencies. All necessary documentation from the seller will be included with the item at time of shipment.
