The business was formed by 2 friends, Lauren and Stan, who have known each other since 1980.

In the mid 1990’s, Lauren Stanley, realizing that this wonderful period of silver had been neglected by the public for so long……….that Lauren and Stan opened Lauren Stanley, a gallery initially specializing in 19th Century American silver (the first gallery to do so with many more businesses later jumping on the American Silver wagon) and gradually including 20thCentury American and Mexican silver.
Lauren Stanley has mounted a variety of museum quality exhibitions including: American Soup Ladles 1800-1900, curated by D. Albert Soeffing (author of many articles and the book ‘Silver Medallion Flatware’; Japanesque Silver by Tiffany & Co. curated by Dr. William P. Hood Jr., author of many articles and the book ‘Tiffany Silver Flatware 1845-1905 – When Dining Was an Art; George Washington American Medallion Silver; Children’s Cups; a large S.D. Brower Flatware set in the original leather/chamois box; a Whiting Berry flatware set……and others.
