About Jolynn Thomas Antiques and CollectiblesAfter taking a hiatus from selling for a couple of years I am back to selling on Ruby Lane, and oh so glad to be back. I've been involved in just about every aspect of the antique world there is. Yes, I've had a brick and mortar shop in the grand old town of Lambertville, one of the best towns for antique shopping there is. Yes, I've traveled up and down the east cost doing the shows, peddling my wares. The best one being the wonderful Pier Show in NYC, I had to pinch myself that I was actually an exhibitor! Yes, I've done the granddaddy of them all, the Brimfield flea market and lived to tell the tale. And yes, I must confess, I've worked at auctions ,lots of fun. Then the internet hit. I sold on that site that shall be nameless and every antique dealer cursed for ruining the antique business (you all know its name) for many years until I discovered Ruby Lane.
I must say I got hooked on antiques when I purchased my first piece of furniture. It was brand spanking new and the second time I tired to move it the piece started to come apart. Forget that. I decided I would buy old furniture that has probably been moved a dozen times but still in tact, build to last so to speak. Eh, voila I was hooked from the first purchase of an "old" piece of furniture and transformed into an antique addict.
My love is textiles and vintage clothing, but I just can't limit myself. There are just to many wonderful things out there to pass by, so into the shop they go. You never know what you'll find in my shop!
